We Were Featured On Property Brothers Celebrity IOU with Tony Hawk

We’re thrilled to have been a part of the latest episode of Property Brothers: Celebrity IOU, featuring pro skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and his good friend Tim. Celebrity IOU is a show where Jonathan and Drew help Hollywood A-listers express gratitude to the friends and colleagues who have positively impacted their lives by surprising them with home renovations.

Tim and Tony have worked together for nearly ten years (Tim is Tony's videographer) and became best friends in the process. When Tony broke his femur, his road to recovery was painful and difficult—both physically and mentally. But Tim was there to support him through it all. “He helped me to realize that I had a long way to go, and to accept the process,” Tony says. Tim recorded his friend’s injury and recovery—which has now become a pivotal part of Tony’s story.

Tim was wanting to turn his detached garage into an editing studio. So Tony and the Property Brothers worked together to transform Tim’s garage into a comfortable, inspiring studio space. “I was with Tim when he bought his house, actually, and I know how much he was saving and how much he risked to get it…I felt for him. And I was hoping maybe I could do something to help out,” Tony says.

Check out the before and after below.

The finished space is a Mid-Century Modern haven, complete with a custom curved desk, acoustic soundproofing boards, and custom wood paneling on the walls. The Property Brothers came to us at RealCraft for a set of custom carriage doors. When we learned about the project, we knew we had to be a part of it. Renovations that turn garages into studios are some of our favorite projects to work on. Our traditional, Craftsman-style doors replaced a damaged roll-up door and made the garage appropriate for a workspace. These doors make the space feel completely new and make it feel warm and inviting. The windows in the doors made the space feel light, bright, and open. And the Urban Front Door Handle set added sleek functionality that coordinated with the rest of the room.

You can find the complete project details on Drew and Jonathan's website. Catch the full episode now on Discovery Plus
