Handcrafted Double Doors

Welcome to RealCraft's collection of double doors, where expert craftsmanship meets unmatched customization.

How to Customize Your Exterior Double Doors

At RealCraft, we're on a mission to eliminate the soullessness of mass production and lead a return to craftsmanship. That's why our skilled artisans use traditional mortise and tenon joinery for doors that are built to last. And when it comes to making the doors your own, you've got options. Choose from a wide range of wood species--we have everything from White Oak to Sapele Mahogany. You can also customize your finish options and glass styles.

An Elevated Shopping Experience for Double Entry Doors

We're here to make your experience as seamless as possible. That's why we offer specialized support, easy customization, and financing options through Bread Financing. And for every door sold, we plant 25 trees in partnership with the Eden Project. So you can feel good knowing your purchase will contribute to a greener planet.

Are double front doors outdated?

No! Double front doors add timelessness and make your entryway look more impressive. We have double door designs with a modern edge that will keep your entryway current.

Are double doors secure?

Double doors can be made secure with the right hardware features. They should all have a deadbolt as well as a cane bolt for the “inactive” door. You can also opt for double doors without glass that are solid wood for additional security.

Can double front entry doors lock?

Yes, they can. We can prep your double doors for your lockset so that installing the whole door system is easy.

Why were double doors invented?

Double doors were first invented as French doors in 17th century France—with glass panes taking up most of the door face. They were meant to let in more natural light, in the days before electricity. And they showed off a person’s wealth, as glass was expensive back then. Now double doors are available with glass or without, depending on your needs.

Do double doors both open?

Yes, our double doors are both operable. One is called the “inactive” door because it’s the one with the cane bolt. That means you will use the “active” door more often, but you can just pull up the cane bolt to use the inactive door, too.

Can double doors open out?

Double doors can either be inswing or outswing. Inswing is the standard because that way the hinges are placed on the inside. This means they won’t be exposed to weather. Outswing doors have hinges on the outside, and they have to be made with materials like stainless steel or brass that won’t corrode.
