Elevate Your Garage With Elegant Carriage Style Garage Doors

If you're looking for a set of carriage style garage doors that are contemporary and fresh, you need the Bellevue doors. Each door features nine individual glass panels framed with premium quality, solid wood. A horizontal rail separates the upper two-thirds of the door face and provides structural support.

Not only do we design our doors beautifully, we also make them with premium materials and many customization options. Choose from twenty different wood species. We offer ten total finish options so you can fine-tune your desired color. And we offer the door jamb in the same wood species as the door, for a luxe final look that’s hard to find elsewhere. Plus, we use 100% solid wood in our doors and jambs. Because we believe a thing that’s worth building is worth building right.

But the materials are only one part of the story. The other part is who makes them. Skilled artisans cut, assemble, and finish our carriage doors by hand. So our doors have an artisanal quality that’s hard to replicate. Our artisans use traditional techniques like mortise and tenon joinery, for a door that’s just as strong as it is beautiful. We have been building carriage doors since 1995, and our skilled artisans have decades of carriage door expertise.

We think these wood carriage doors are ideal for contemporary, modern, and Mid Century Modern homes. They can be used on garages, studio spaces, or living spaces.

We've partnered with the best European manufacturers to bring you two outswing carriage door openers. Make your garage doors work for you with an automated door opener.

Wood Species

RealCraft offers twenty different wood options, ranging from traditional to exotic.

One of the reasons we love real wood so much is that it carries the character of its natural habitat. Wood species respond differently to humidity and temperature conditions. If you aren't sure which wood species to pick, call us at 1-800-694-5977.

If you want to see our wood in person before making a selection, you can order samples here. Check out our wood buying guide here.

Glass Options

When selecting a glass option for these doors, the most important variable to consider is how private the space is. Satin insulated glass offers more opacity than clear insulated. We also offer double insulated glass for insulated or heated garages. If you use your garage as a workshop or you've converted it into a living space, double insulated glass will help you save on your energy bill and better regulate the temperature.

We also offer custom glass options upon request. Note that not all custom glass types may be available as insulated units.

Hinge Style

Our standard entry hinges are 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" ball-bearing hinges available in:

  • Solid Brass
  • Pure Stainless Steel

We also have strap hinges for carriage doors. These hinges are best for rustic or traditional doors.

Pre-Hung Door Jambs

Door jambs are made of the same wood as the door for a cohesive look no matter what wood you choose.

Jamb measurements: Door width plus 2 3/8"

Minimum rough opening: Door width plus 2 ¾"

Please note that exterior casing/trim is not included.

Note that exterior Cedar doors come with a Douglas Fir jamb.

Thresholds

Carriage doors come with your choice of two threshold types: a drivable aluminum threshold, and a white oak threshold. If your garage has been converted to a workshop or living space, choose the white oak threshold as it is more watertight. If your garage will be used as a garage, the aluminum threshold is best. If you need an ADA threshold, call us.

Astragals

Astragals are vertical pieces of wood that cover the space where the carriage doors meet. It makes your carriage doors more secure and weather tight against the elements. A manual carriage door setup needs one astragal on the active door, while an automated setup requires an astragal on each door.

Door Maintenance and Protection

Maintenance is key to protecting your investment. If you live in a place that has big temperature changes between seasons, you may need to tighten or lubricate your hinges from time to time. You should also adjust the door sweep to make sure it keeps the door sealed against the elements over time.

Our water-based top coat finish will need a refresh every 1-3 years depending on your door's exposure to elements. Large temperature & humidity changes, direct exposure to sunlight, and seaside environments all can affect how often a door needs refreshing. Expect to fully strip and refinish your doors every 6-7 years.

Carriage doors without an overhang will require more frequent maintenance and finish reapplication. So we recommend installing an overhang over your carriage doors. See ourwarranty for more details.

If your door gets dirty (weather, pets, children, etc.) you can clean it with a gentle soap and water. If you have to clean the hinges for any reason, make sure they dry thoroughly.

Financing

We offer two ways to pay over time. The first is with Payment Deposits. Available on qualifying orders valued at or above $3,000. You can get started with 50% down and pay the rest when the door is ready to ship. No credit checks or third party policies required—just the freedom to start your project on your terms. Learn more on our deposits page.

We’re also proud to offer Shop Pay Installments. Buy today and pay in 4 or more payments starting at 0% APR. If you finance your purchase with Affirm (Shop Pay Installments), your first payment is due approximately two weeks after your purchase is finalized. Please note that due to extended delivery times, your loan payment(s) may be due before you receive your purchase.

Questions?

For frequently asked questions about choosing a door and hardware see our FAQ page. And feel free to reach out any time to speak to a qualified consultant by calling 1-800-694-5977.

Ordering a pre-hung door means the door jamb is included. Therefore measurements for pre-hung doors should take into account the overall Unit Measurements and the Minimum Rough Opening where it will be installed.

Calculating Unit Width Measurements for Pre-hung Doors

  • Single Door Width x 2 + 3-1/4" for Unit Width1/2" minimum for Rough Opening Width

Calculating Unit Height Measurements for Pre-hung Doors

  • Door Height + 1-7/8"" for Unit Height1/4" minimum for Rough Opening Height

Please note that any door or door unit that measures more than 90 inches in both width and height will be shipped as a kit with jamb legs disassembled. This is done to comply with crate size limits on freight trucks.

We highly recommend adding a clear or stain finish to your door to protect it and make sure that it is eligible to be covered by our warranty. A clear finish not only protects your door, it also enhances its beauty and brings out the color and detail of the grain. Stain finishes can intensify or adapt the color of the wood and provide additional protection against fading. Visit our wood species page to learn more.

We offer the following finish options:

  • White Primer: Added to Paint Grade Hardwood. For this option, we use only high-quality hardwoods like European Beech or Red Grandis. These species provide a smooth surface for paint.
  • Luxe Clear Satin Finish: An oil finish base, sealed with a satin-texture water-based top coat.
  • Luxe Oil Stain Finish: A pigmented oil finish base, sealed with a satin-texture water-based top coat.
