An Ancient Pattern On A Modern Sliding Door

Are you looking for a sliding door that’s unique, distinctive, and timelessly beautiful? Meet the Four Panel Chevron. Featuring a four panel construction in a traditional tenon-and-mortise frame, you can choose from four different panel styles.

Quill: the chevron pattern meets in the center of the door

Diamond: the diagonal planks make a diamond pattern that radiates out from the center of the door

Mountain: all the diagonal planks are pointing up

Valley: all the diagonal planks are pointing down

This door is among our most popular styles because of its refined, elegant design. You’ll never get tired of looking at it. Plus it coordinates well with so many different décor styles because it comes in 20 different wood options. Take it in a rustic direction with Knotty Alder, or a Scandi minimalist vibe with Maple. Or go for a luxe look with vibrant red Padauk.  You can make this door uniquely yours.

The Chevron Door is 1.75" Thick.

Please note: All hardware is sold separately.

We highly recommend adding a clear finish to your door to protect it and make sure that it is eligible for coverage under our warranty. A clear finish not only protects your door, it also enhances your door’s beauty. Clear finish brings out the color and detail of the wood grain and preserves the wood’s texture—that’s what we call keeping it Real.

We offer the following finish options:

  • White Primer: Added to Paint Grade Hardwood only. For this option, we use high-quality hardwoods like European Beech or Red Grandis. These species provide a smooth surface for paint.
  • Clear Satin Eurofinish by Osmo: A premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that conditions, seals, and finishes the wood. This is our recommended finish for all doors because it retains the wood’s texture and natural color.
  • Oil Stain EuroFinish by Osmo: A premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that stains, seals, and finishes the wood.

Check out our Wood Species Visualizer below to compare the raw wood with finished wood and explore our wood species options. Slide the toggle to the left for unfinished wood, and slide the toggle to the right for wood finished with Clear Satin EuroFinish.

Skilled artisans make all our doors by hand onsite in Gig Harbor, a small seaport town on the Puget Sound in Washington State.

RealCraft offers twenty different wood species from American classics like Walnut and Cherry to exotic woods like Bubinga and Zebrawood. One of the reasons we love real wood so much is that it retains the character of its natural habitat. Wood species respond differently to humidity and temperature conditions. If you aren't sure which wood species to pick, call us at 1-253-853-3815.

For frequently asked questions about choosing a door and hardware see our FAQ page. If you're not sure what species is right for your space, or want to see the wood in person, you can order samples here.

Please note that doors will ship separately from sliding hardware when purchased together. Doors are pictured with hardware for context. Sliding hardware is sold separately, and not included with the purchase of a door. Doors are not pre-drilled for hardware. If you order a door and a hardware kit, we are unable to ship hardware installed on doors due to the risk of damage in transit.

We designed these doors with interior applications in mind. We don't recommend exterior use, and can't guarantee against warping or damage if you install your door outside. To have this door specially crafted for exterior use, call us at 1-253-853-3815 and we’ll be happy to help!

If you want to customize your door even further, we can make your dream a reality! If you need more than 10 doors, or if your project requires special consideration, please call 1-253-853-3815. Please remember that any customization will add to the lead time.

When calculating the size of your barn door, we recommend to make the door large enough that it overlaps the doorway slightly. This minimizes gaps and provides some sound-muffling for privacy. An inch of overlap on each side is a good rule of thumb for barn doors. For example, a 36” x 80” doorway would need a 38” x 81” sliding barn door. If you would like more sound sealing, then a 2-inch overlap is best. To make sure the door system looks tidy, your barn door should also completely cover any molding on the door opening when closed. So if you have molding, you’ll need to factor that into your measurements as well.
