Weight Rating

This chart is arranged in ascending order of capacity, both in door weight and hinge moment.

1. To calculate your proper hinge, you'll need the following information:

a. Weight of the door in pounds

b. Height of the door in feet

c. Width of the door in feet

2. Calculate the moment on the hinge set: Multiply the weight of the door by the width of the door.

3. Locate the column showing the door height and read down the column to the row indicating the height of the specified door.

Read across the row, find the proper hinge model which has values matching the application. The row will also tell you the number of hinges necessary.

Important Note: The specified door weight and hinge moment must be less than or equal to the published values in the chart for the model of hinge used.
