Weathered Horizontal Plank Rustic Barn Doors

Now available in four new colorways! Combining weathered barn wood and minimalist design, this sliding barn door is both rustic and modern. It’s available in ten color finishes or unfinished, and in your choice of pre-assembled or DIY assembly. Add some country charm to your space with the Weathered Horizontal Plank Door.

A Beautifully Rustic Sliding Farmhouse Door

This DIY sliding door kit features a rustic, intentionally weathered texture. Eight horizontal planks give it sense of simplicity if you’re looking for something more streamlined than traditional barn door brace styles. This door comes in Knotty Alder hardwood and is available in eleven finish options:

  • Unfinished (all DIY door kits are unfinished)
  • Charcoal Black
  • Seashell Cream
  • Tuscan Red
  • Dusty Brown
  • Coastal White
  • Silver Sands
  • Driftwood Gray

And our New Desert Journey Collection, four colors inspired by the dramatic contrasts of the desert Southwest:

  • Sonora Sand
  • Cactus Rose
  • Desert Sage
  • Turquoise Oasis

We brush and finish each plank ourselves and can either assemble it for you or send it in pieces for a fun DIY barn door project! Planks are pre-cut and pre-slotted, so it’s easy to assemble and install as a weekend project. It’s compatible with all our sliding hardware kits, giving you the option to take it even more rustic with our Horseshoe sliding hardware, or embrace the unexpected and pair it with our sleek Swiss Rod. This door is perfect for rustic, coastal, and shabby chic décor styles.

Features

  • Real, solid wood planks
  • Ready-to-assemble DIY option OR pre-assembled
  • 1-3/4" thickness
  • Your choice of flat head screw finish
  • 7 color options (or unfinished)
  • Compatible with all sliding hardware
  • Also available in classic barn door plank style here

Skilled artisans make all our doors by hand onsite in Gig Harbor, a small seaport town on the Puget Sound in Washington State.

Please note that all barn doors will ship separately from sliding hardware when purchased together. Doors are pictured with hardware for context. Sliding hardware is sold separately, and not included with the purchase of a door. Doors are not pre-drilled for hardware. If you order a door and a hardware kit, we cannot ship hardware installed on doors due to the risk of shipping damage.

We designed these doors for interior applications. We don't recommend exterior use, and can't guarantee against warping or damage if you install your door outside. To have this door specially crafted for exterior use, call us at 1-253-853-3815and we will be happy to help!

Financing

We’re proud to offer Shop Pay Installments! Buy today and pay in 4 or more payments starting at 0% APR. If you finance your purchase with Affirm (Shop Pay Installments), your first payment is due approximately two weeks after your purchase is finalized. Please note that due to extended delivery times, your loan payment(s) may be due before you receive your purchase.

If you need more than 10 doors, or if your project requires special consideration, please call 1-253-853-3815.

When choosing a sliding barn door size, we recommend that the door overlaps the doorway slightly to minimize gaps and provide some sound-muffling for privacy. An inch of overlap on each side is a good rule for barn doors. In this case, a 36” x 80” doorway would need a 38” x 81” sliding barn door. If you would like more sound sealing, then a 2 inch overlap on either side is best. To make sure it looks good, your barn door should also cover any molding on the door opening when closed.
