Please note: Osmo TopOil cannot be shipped to the greater Los Angeles area due to restrictions.
Osmo TopOil is a high solid food-safe hardwax oil wood finish. It's resistant to common spills, including wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk, and water. These liquids will tightly bead on the surface without leaving any marks, making it easy to maintain clean, beautiful wood surfaces in your kitchen.
This food-safe wood finish is just what you need to protect your wood countertops and cutting boards. It is made of natural oils and waxes to condition the wood and protect it from common spills. It's specifically optimal for protecting surfaces made of solid wood or edge-glued panels indoors. It is also suitable for cork and OSB. The high solid content of Top Oil makes it hard-wearing and long lasting, perfect for wood surfaces that see heavy use, like cutting boards and countertops. It's also appropriate for table tops, buffets and sideboards, or other areas where food is served. It's what we use on all of our Butcher Block Countertops, because it beautifully enhances the wood's natural color and grain pattern.
Osmo Top Oil Benefits
Preparation
Application
BY HAND WITH A CLOTH/RAG
Apply three thin coats with a lint-free cloth.
BY HAND WITH A BRUSH
Apply two thin coats with an Osmo Natural Bristle Brush or similar brush.
CAUTION: cloths, steel wool, or other materials saturated with this product are combustible and may spontaneously catch on fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed water-filled metal container. See product information page attachment in Technical tab for more information.
Aftercare
Oiled surfaces should not be cleaned with a steam cleaner or steam mop as this degrades the performance of the finish.
Regular Cleaning
Kitchen work surfaces and table tops that have been treated with Osmo Top Oil can be cleaned with Osmo Wash and Care and a damp cloth, then wiped dry. Please note that household bleach products can damage the wood finish. We don't recommend the use of bleach products to clean surfaces treated with Osmo.
Deep Cleaning
Stubborn marks and stains can be removed by using Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner that both cleans and regenerates oiled surfaces.
Renovation
Renovating is easy. Just clean and re-treat worn areas with a thin coat of Osmo Top Oil – no sanding needed. No repair marks will be visible if applied thinly and appropriately.
Finishing
If a deeper satin finish is required, the oiled surface can be polished with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner once the surface has fully dried.
