A prevalent question when buying a sliding barn door is: how tall and wide should my barn door be? What most people do not know is that measuring your door frame for a barn door is different from measuring for a regular swing door.

This Sliding Barn Door Box Rail Hardware is rated to carry a 400lb door (per pair of trolleys). Box rail is perfect for both interior and exterior applications - the trolleys roll inside the “box” track and are protected from the elements.
In addition, this simplifies the look as the wheels are not visible. For an industrial/rugged look - perfect for lofts, warehouses, barns, or, in contrast - modern interiors! Available in a variety of finish options (including Stainless Steel) and weight ratings.
In 2008, before the barn and sliding hardware boom began, we realized our solid wood (and heavy) carriage doors needed to slide, thus requiring an equally solid/robust sliding hardware - and our Box Rail Sliding Hardware line was born! Our Box rail line is available in a range of weight ratings - 400, 600, 800, and up to 5,000lbs (per door) making it the perfect choice for everyday home interior projects - bedrooms, bathrooms, shed, and also the large and extra-large applications - airplane hangers, RV garages, garage doors, Horse barns, heavy industrial agricultural buildings, etc.
RealCraft has set the industry standard with Box rail sliding barn door hardware, starting with the trolleys. We start with the highest quality raw materials - all stainless steel parts and high-density polymer wheels. These are as smooth and quiet rolling as you get. Available in Stainless Steel, Galvanized, powder coated Black, Oil Rubbed Bronze, and more.
(data about the product itself - what function/flexibility do you get?)
(Parts may vary based on Soffit Mount or Side Mount, see installation guide)
OTHER OPTIONS:
Lag bolts are not available for Industrial Duty Box Rail. Touch-up Paint is included. To guide the door at the bottom, upgrade to the Industrial Floor Mount Stay Roller.
All RealCraft barn door hardware kits are machined in Washington State, USA.
Our color hardware finishes are powder-coated steel. Unfinished raw steel is just that - the metal is not treated, and it's intended to have a worn and weathered look over time. The material is susceptible to pitting and rust, giving the hardware a time-worn look that meshes well with rustic, shabby chic, and industrial design schemes.
This hardware ships free within the continental United States. Free shipping excludes expedited shipping, international shipments, and oversize orders that require LTL shipping. Fast lead time: In-stock items ship in 1-3 days! Most orders ship same day if ordered by 12 PM Pacific time.
600 lb kits over 16' must go through a freight carrier, and cannot be expedited. *Free standard shipping within the contiguous United States.
Industrial Box Rail custom colors are special order and have longer lead times, and are not returnable.
Doors are not included with the purchase of hardware.

CHOOSING A KIT LENGTH:
Single Door: Multiply your single door width by two for optimum track length. For a 3ft door, you would typically need a 6ft rail kit.
Double Doors: For biparting doors, choose a kit length for the total track length needed, then change "Quantity of doors on track" to 2 to add hardware for an additional door.
APRON MIN/MAX DOOR THICKNESS* | ||
---|---|---|
Min | Max | |
600 lb. | 1-3/4" | 2-1/2" |
*Can accommodate thicker doors by mortising apron into door
CHOOSING A MOUNTING STYLE:
Single Door:
Wall Mounted: For wall-mounted single doors, double the width of the door to determine the rail length you will need. For example, if you have a 3'W door, you will need a minimum of 6' of track. For help determining the amount of track you will need for your application, please call us.
Soffit (ceiling) Mounted: For doors that are soffit mounted within the opening, measure the opening width. Choose the rail size that is larger than the opening (see the "Actual Rail Lengths" chart below)--the rail can be cut onsite to exactly fit the opening size.
Biparting, or Multi-door:
Wall Mounted: For biparting doors that are wall mounted, choose a kit length for the total track length needed, then change "Quantity of doors on track" to 2 to add hardware for an additional door. For help determining the amount of track you will need for your application, please call us.
Soffit (ceiling) Mounted: For biparting doors that are soffit mounted, choose a kit length for the total track length needed, then change "Quantity of doors on track" to 2 to add hardware for an additional door. For help determining the amount of track you will need for your application, please call us.
