What are the advantages of a sliding barn door? A barn door saves you 10 square feet of floor space on average compared to swinging doors. So if you have a narrow hallway or would just prefer more space to maneuver, a barn door saves you a ton of floor space. The Craftsman Triple Lite Sliding Barn Door is compatible with standard sliding door applications, bi-parting (double), or bypassing systems. They look especially beautiful as a bi-parting system. 

Don't forget to pair your barn door with your favorite sliding hardware for an even more cohesive result. Our Classic Flat Track or minimalist Aero Kit offer an elegant accent for this traditional door style. 

Wood Species

We are proud to offer 20 beautiful wood species available for all of our barn door designs, from American classics to luxury exotic hardwoods. Some of our most popular wood species for this barn door include:

• Quarter Sawn White Oak
• Maple

Domestic hardwoods like those listed above are great choices for this style, but we also think it would look beautiful with an exotic wood such as Wenge. 

Glass Options

Another key element for this door is the choice of glass. Remember to consider privacy when selecting the glass for your door. Choose the standard clear glass for a fully transparent look and maximum natural light. Or choose the etched option, with a frosted finish, for more privacy and soft natural light.

 Please note that doors will ship separately from sliding hardware when purchased together. Doors are pictured with hardware for context. Sliding hardware is sold separately, and not included with the purchase of a door. Doors are not pre-drilled for hardware. If you order a door and a hardware kit, we are unable to ship hardware installed on doors due to the risk of damage in transit. 

We designed these doors with interior applications in mind. We don't recommend exterior use, and  can't guarantee against warping or damage  if you install your door outside. To have this door specially crafted for exterior use, call us at 1-253-853-3815 and we’ll be happy to help!

When determining the size of your barn door, we recommend that the door overlaps the doorway to minimize gaps and provide some sound-muffling for privacy. An inch of overlap on each side is a good rule of thumb for barn doors. For example, a 36” x 80” doorway would need a 38” x 81” sliding barn door. If you would like more sound sealing, then a 2-inch overlap on either side is best. To make sure it looks as intentional as possible, your barn door should also completely cover any molding on the door opening when closed. So if you have molding, you’ll need to factor that into your measurements as well.

RealCraft offers twenty different wood species from budget-friendly to exotic and rare. One of the reasons we love real wood so much is that it carries the character of its natural habitat and it is a living, breathing material. We recommend adding a clear finish to your door to protect it and ensure that it is  eligible for coverage under our warranty. A clear finish not only protects your door, it also enhances the door’s beauty while preserving its natural, unique texture. Clear finish brings out the color and detail of the wood grain.   

We offer the following finish options:  

White Primer: Added to Paint Grade Hardwood. For this option, we use only high-quality hardwoods like European Beech or Red Grandis. These species provide a smooth surface for paint.  

Clear Satin EuroFinish by Osmo: A premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that conditions, seals, and finishes the wood.  

Oil Stain EuroFinish by Osmo: A premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that stains, seals, and finishes the wood.
