DUTCH SHELF + BOLT INFORMATION

Dutch Shelf

Our Dutch shelf comes with corbels for support and a classic silhouette.

The Dutch shelf is tapered in order to allow for optimal door clearance.

There are three Dutch shelf options:

  • An interior shelf
  • An exterior shelf
  • A double-sided shelf

Please note that shelf height will vary slightly depending on the hinge side and/or door handing. Hinge-side shelves will be slightly lower on the door slab than non-hinge side shelves. As shown in the image below, a double sided shelf will be slightly offset because of the nature of the Dutch cut in the door slab.

Dutch Bolt

All our Dutch doors come with a Dutch bolt to keep both leaves of the door together when needed. The Dutch bolt is not pre-installed on the door because it should only be placed after you hang the door, to allow for variances in site conditions.

MATERIALS + FINISHES

RealCraft offers twenty different wood options, including domestic and select exotic species.

Adding a finish to your door protects it and makes it eligible to be covered by our warranty. A clear finish also brings out the color and detail of the wood grain. Stain finishes can intensify or adapt the color of the wood and provide additional protection against fading. Visit our wood species page to learn more.

We offer the following finish options:

  • White Primer: Added to Paint Grade Hardwood. For this option, we use only high-quality hardwoods like European Beech or Red Grandis. These species provide a smooth surface for paint.

  • Luxe Clear Satin Finish: An oil finish base, sealed with a satin-texture water-based top coat.

  • Luxe Oil Stain Finish: A pigmented oil finish base, sealed with a satin-texture water-based top coat.
SHIPPING, DELIVERY + LEAD TIMES

Our lead times are subject to change based on order volume, design complexity, and more. Find the most up-to-date lead time here.

Our doors ship free via FedEx with the option to add lift gate service. We recommend lift gate service for most residential projects.

Shipping Protection

We've partnered with UPS Capital to introduce an advanced shipping protection plan. This plan shields your purchases against any unforeseen events during transit. Guard your package against loss, theft, or damage. Visit our Shipping Protection page to learn more.

Please note that any door or door unit that measures more than 90 inches in both width and height will be shipped as a kit with jamb legs disassembled and side light glass separate. This is done to comply with crate size limits on freight trucks.

FINANCING

We offer two ways to pay over time. The first is with Payment Deposits. Available on qualifying orders valued at or above $3,000. You can get started with 50% down and pay the rest when the door is ready to ship. No credit checks or third party policies required—just the freedom to start your project on your terms. Learn more on our deposits page.

We’re also proud to offer Shop Pay Installments. Buy today and pay in 4 or more payments starting at 0% APR. If you finance your purchase with Affirm (Shop Pay Installments), your first payment is due approximately two weeks after your purchase is finalized. Please note that due to extended delivery times, your loan payment(s) may be due before you receive your purchase.

PRODUCT CARE

Stained Wood
Stained wood doors are finished with a water-based top coat for enhanced longevity. You'll need to sand and refinish this door every 6-7 years to maintain its appearance.

Painted Wood
Paint needs to be sanded away and reapplied once every 5-10 years.

The most beautiful front door I have ever had! The customization allows for endless possibilities. I choose a cherry wood Dutch door that is super convenient if you have dogs (or children). Ordering on the site was easy and the delivery process was seamless. To top it off RealCraft customer service was friendly & prompt. I have been renovating my cabin for over a year but my new front door is truly a work of art that will last decades.
