The Rodanthe Pivot Door features four narrow glass panels set in a Mid Century Modern design. For a completely clean, sleek look that allows for both privacy and natural light. Embrace modern elegance with the Rodanthe door.
With its horizontal windows and wooden planks, this door design is perfect for a wider door opening. It’s simple without being plain, and as timeless as doors come. Whatever wood species you choose becomes the focal point, displaying the unsurpassed beauty of real materials.
Choose between a freestyle turnstile pivot or the M+ pivot, which offers adjustable holding and damping, allowing the door to stay open when needed. The M+ pivot also features adjustable closure speeds, making it more accessible.
Like all RealCraft entry doors, the Rodanthe Pivot Door is available in over twenty wood species. From classic Black Walnut to exotic Sapele Mahogany, you’re sure to find a wood species that works with your design style. Traditional joinery techniques make this pivot front door an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time.
Our exterior pivot doors include an exclusive white oak threshold and brush sweep to prevent water damage to the jamb. We test-fit the pivot hardware in the threshold to ensure correct placement, which makes installation quick and easy. And we offer three options for door jambs, including the same species as the door for a cohesive look. Sidelights and transoms with insulated glass can be added to complete your entryway. Sidelights and transoms are available in two styles: a frameless modern look, or wood-framed for a traditional feel.
Skilled artisans make all our doors by hand onsite in Gig Harbor, a small seaport town on the Puget Sound in Washington State.
RealCraft offers twenty different wood species, ranging from traditional to exotic.
One of the reasons we love real wood so much is that it carries the character of its natural habitat. Wood species respond differently to humidity and temperature conditions. If you aren't sure which wood species to pick, call us at 1-800-694-5977.
If you want to see our wood in person before making a selection, you can order samples here. Check out our wood buying guide here.
RealCraft's Transom and Sidelights are made with the same wood as your door, for a cohesive and premium look.
A transom window refers to a window above a door slab, typically (but not always) separated by a transverse horizontal structural beam.
Sidelights are narrow windows that flank a door slab. You can have one side light or two, one on each side of the door. You can also combine one or two sidelights with a transom. Sidelights make your entry door look more visually striking.
Please note that RealCraft Sidelights and Transoms are non-operable, meaning they do not open or close. To add an operable side light or transom, please contact our custom sales department at253-853-3811.
The System M+ Pivot Door Hardware is a versatile top pivot designed to work with all pivot doors. It offers the ability to position the system 70 mm from the door's side, which helps reduce unused space while maintaining the distinctive pivot door movement. The System M+ can be placed in any position between 70 mm and the center of the door, making it suitable for many project specifications. With these features, the M+ is an excellent choice for those seeking a flexible and efficient pivot system for their project.
To determine door handing: Stand with your back to the side of the jamb where the pivot will be closest to. Then let your arm be the door and note whether the door swings to your right or your left. If it swings to your left, it is a left-handed door. If it swings to your right, it is a right-handed door.
To determine “inswing” or “outswing”: First, stand outside your house. Then, when your door opens does it open into the house? Then it is an inswing door. Does it open out from the house? Then it is an outswing door.
Note: Inswing doors are more typical for entry doors.
Door jambs are made of the same wood as the door for a cohesive look no matter what wood you choose.
Jamb measurements: Door width plus 2 3/8"
Minimum rough opening: Door width plus 2 ¾"
Our exclusive white oak threshold offers superior water protection and wear resistance. For pivot doors specifically, we use a brush weather sweep set into the bottom of the door. Kerfed weatherstripping is standard. If you need an ADA threshold, call us.
Maintenance is key to protecting your investment. If you live in a place that has big temperature changes between seasons, you may need to tighten or lubricate your hinges from time to time. You should also adjust the door sweep to make sure it keeps the door sealed against the elements over time.
Our water-based top coat finish will need a refresh every 1-3 years depending on your door's exposure to elements. Large temperature & humidity changes, direct exposure to sunlight, and seaside environments all can affect how often a door needs refreshing. Expect to fully strip and refinish your door every 6-7 years.
If your door gets dirty (weather, pets, children, etc.) you can clean it with a gentle soap and water. If you have to clean the hinges for any reason, make sure they dry thoroughly.
