Half Glass Sliding Interior French Doors

The Half Glass Sliding Interior French Doors provide a faux dutch door look while also letting tons of light in.

The Half French Glass has six leaded glass panes, while the bottom half and edges are handcrafted from solid wood. Flat panels are standard for this design, but raised panels are available upon request. With 19 species of wood to choose from, the Half French Glass Sliding Door offers an updated take on the French door, blending classical proportions with modern sleekness.

Minimal and Elegant Interior Sliding French Doors

The Half French Glass Sliding Barn Door offers the elegance of French styling with the space-saving functionality of a sliding barn door. Unlike a traditional French door whose central panel is glass from top to bottom, the Half French Glass design incorporates six leaded glass panes on top, and a bottom panel made of solid wood. It combines the traditional and the modern, for a barn door that preserves the best of the past while still feeling fresh.

The Half French Glass Door design style works with a variety of decoration design styles, including:

  • Shabby Chic Décor
  • Classic Décor
  • Victorian Décor
  • Traditional Décor

The Half French style can work well in many spaces, from commercial to residential. Sliding door styles add accessibility to any space because they preserve an average of 10 feet of floor clearance compared to a swinging door. Sliding doors work in nearly any door application as long as there is wall space next to the doorway. Some suitable applications for a Half French Glass Sliding Barn Door include:

  • An Office Sliding Glass Barn Door
  • A Balcony Sliding Glass Barn Door
  • A Corner Sliding Glass Barn Door
  • A Backyard Sliding Glass Barn Door

Pair it with your favorite RealCraft hardware kit for a even more cohesive look. For this style, we recommend our Swiss Rod or Hex Bar styles. Both are architectural styles particularly well-suited to elegant, classic barn doors.

Skilled artisans make all our doors by hand onsite in Gig Harbor, a small seaport town on the Puget Sound in Washington State.

For frequently asked questions about choosing a door and hardware see our FAQ page. If you're not sure what species is right for your space, or want to see the wood in person, you can order samples here

Please note that doors will ship separately from sliding hardware when purchased together. Doors are pictured with hardware for context. Sliding hardware is sold separately, and not included with the purchase of a door. Doors are not pre-drilled for hardware. If you order a door and a hardware kit, we are unable to ship hardware installed on doors due to the risk of damage in transit.

We designed these doors with interior applications in mind. We don't recommend exterior use, and can't guarantee against warping or damage if you install your door outside. To have this door specially crafted for exterior use, call us at 1-253-853-3815 and we’ll be happy to help!

If you wish to customize the door even further, we can make your dream door a reality! Please understand that customization will add to the lead time. If you need more than 10 doors, or if your project requires special consideration, please call 1-253-853-3815

When determining the size of your barn door, we recommend that the door overlaps the doorway to minimize gaps and provide some sound-muffling for privacy. An inch of overlap on each side is a good rule of thumb for barn doors. For example, a 36” x 80” doorway would need a 38” x 81” sliding barn door. If you would like more sound sealing, then a 2-inch overlap on either side is best. To make sure it looks as intentional as possible, your barn door should also completely cover any molding on the door opening when closed. So if you have molding, you’ll need to factor that into your measurements as well.

RealCraft offers twenty different wood species from budget-friendly to exotic and rare. One of the reasons we love real wood so much is that it carries the character of its natural habitat. Wood species respond differently to humidity and temperature conditions. If you aren't sure which wood species to pick, call us at 1-253-853-3815.

We recommend adding a clear finish to your door to protect it and ensure that it iseligible for coverage under our warranty.A clear finish not only protects your door, it also enhances the door’s beauty while preserving its natural, unique texture. Clear finish brings out the color and detail of the wood grain.

We offer the following finish options:

White Primer: Added to Paint Grade Hardwood. For this option, we use only high-quality hardwoods like European Beech or Red Grandis. These species provide a smooth surface for paint.

Clear Satin EuroFinish by Osmo: A premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that conditions, seals, and finishes the wood.

Oil Stain EuroFinish by Osmo: A premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that stains, seals, and finishes the wood.
